Laupahoehoe Hula
Here am I , a boy
Of
Laupahoehoe
Broad are my shoulders
Husky is my body
I don’t mind climbing hills
going down the slopes
I go to the river
For the ‘o‘opu nawao
Canoe paddling I also do
Over the rising waves
I have no fears
Of the billows of the sea
I return home
And eat big fingers of poi
Fill my insides well
And keep my body husky
This is the end of my story
Here I am, a boy
Of Laupahoehoe
With broad shoulders
